The following is an introduction to the various ship types that NSS handles.
Ships
Oil Tanker
An oil tanker is a ship designed to carry large quantities of crude oil and petroleum products. They are large and heavy and are considered the mainstay of international oil transportation.
Bulk Carrier
A bulk carrier is a ship used to carry bulk cargo, such as grain, coal and ore. The ship has a large opening in its hull which makes it possible to efficiently load large amounts of cargo.
LNGC (Liquefied Natural Gas Carrier)
LNG carriers are ships that liquefy natural gas at -162°C and transport it in tanks covered with special insulating material. They are specialized for energy transportation.
PCC (Pure Car Carrier)
PCCs are ships designed to transport large quantities of new cars and have multiple decks that allow cars to be loaded efficiently. They are essential for international car shipping.
RO/RO
Roll-on/Roll-off ships are characterized by a design which allows vehicles to board and disembark under their own power. They are versatile and can be used for a variety of vehicles.
Reefer (Refrigerated Carrier)
Reefer ships are used to carry frozen or refrigerated cargo, transporting food and perishable items over long distances while preserving their quality.
Car Ferry
A ferry is a vessel that regularly carries passengers, vehicles and cargo. They are versatile in terms of the items they transport and the distances they travel, making them a quite familiar type of ship.
Passenger Ship
Passenger ships are ships used primarily to transport people, with cruise ships being the most well-known type. They offer luxurious facilities and services and are used for travel and entertainment purposes.
